COVID-19 Response Plan

MEDIchair NorthBC is proud to remain open as a designated essential service. We are taking all reasonable precautions to ensure the ongoing health and safety of our clients, partners and employees during the COVID-19 pandemic. We continue to welcome a limited number of walk-ins and offer scheduled appointments at our locations for assessments, repairs, etc. as well as offer curbside pick-ups, and deliveries. We are also pleased to provide basic offerings by video (i.e. virtual appointments) where available.

Our commitment, as always, is to make life accessible for everyone.

Visitor Policy
We are controlling the number of walk-in visitors to our showrooms and facilities to reduce touch points and sanitize all touched equipment, products and surfaces after every client . Clients are recommended to book an appointment in advance where possible and must wear a fitted face covering for the duration of the visit.

Face Coverings

MEDIchair NorthBC requires that all visitors to our locations wear a fitted mask or face covering for the duration of their visit and strongly recommends the wearing of a fitted mask or face covering during in-home visits. Employees are also required to wear a fitted mask or face covering at all times in common areas; unless drinking or eating or while alone in a company vehicle.

Pre-Screening Protocol

MEDIchair NorthBC representatives conduct a pre-screening for every expected individual prior to all appointments and all walk-in visits to our sites to better understand the risk of proceeding. Walk-in visitors will be asked to return at a later date if a potential risk is identified and client appointments will be rescheduled within a reasonable timeframe based on client need and the availability of qualified staff to perform the services requested.

Hand-Washing Guidelines

MEDIchair NorthBC employees have been trained in proper hand hygiene (e.g. wash hands thoroughly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds). Should access to soap and water not be available, employees have been advised to clean hands with a 70-90% alcohol-based hand rub.

Facility Cleaning

While the cleaning of our shared spaces is scheduled regularly, we’re taking additional precautionary measures by conducting more frequent sanitizing of these areas and making hand sanitizer available for shared use.

Equipment Cleaning

Additional supplies for infectious control have been sourced to ensure that all equipment entering our facilities is tagged according to the sanitization that is required and then labelled as sanitized upon return to our clients and partner facilities.

Personal Protective Equipment

Items such as masks, gloves, and protective coverings have been introduced for all employees as well as sanitizing equipment.

Employee Self-Assessments, Self-Isolation & Disclosure

Employees are required to initial a Daily Health check list prior to commencing work each day. Should a potential risk be identified, employees will be required to contact their manager, stay at home, asked to call their public health unit, and follow the guidelines outlined including COVID testing and isolation. The employee must not report to work until discussing next steps with their manager.

How to Prevent the Spread of Respiratory Viruses

  • Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or clean hands with a 70-90% alcohol-based hand rub if soap and running water is not available
  • Maintain at least a 2 metre (6 feet) distance between yourself and others at all times
  • Wear a fitted mask or face covering when physical distancing is not possible or when in public and enclosed indoor spaces
  • Cover mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing; if no tissue is available, then sneeze or cough into the sleeve or arm
  • Clean and disinfect objects and surfaces regularly and keep shared surface areas clean
  • If you have fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical care and stay home until symptoms resolve.

The health and well-being of our clients, partners and employees remains our highest priority. As the situation continues to evolve, we will provide further updates as new information becomes available.
